Track athletes across Wisconsin are up and running again, with many local schools attending the Northern Badger Classic at UW-Stout. Fall Creek’s Alena Sanfelippo stood out in her field, winning both events she competed in.
The Junior from Fall Creek was a first-place finisher in both the Long Jump and Pole Vault at the Large School portion of the event.
The first meet of the season for many local high schools was held this past Saturday, March 23 in Menomonie.
In the Long Jump, Sanfelippo won by a wide margin, jumping 16’5”, and beating the second-place finisher by over a foot. Her Pole Vault earned her another medal, as she led all 26 other athletes competing. Her best jump of the day was an even 11 feet.
Sanfelippo has picked up where she left off last season, leading the Fall Creek leapers in her two events. After a state appearance last year that saw her winning the Division 3 Pole Vault title, Sanfelippo is poised to be a strong contributor to her Crickets team.
