Two of Eau Claire’s dance teams take center stage as The Varsity Journal’s inaugural Girls Teams of the Month. Eau Claire North and Eau Claire Memorial share the distinction after each team earned a trip to the State competition.
Both North and Memorial had strong seasons, with solid finishes at the Regional level on January 27. After a competitive Division 1 match that featured many of Wisconsin’s premier dance teams, the two schools from Eau Claire prevailed, with each advancing in the Jazz category.
In addition to the teams moving on, several individual solos qualified for State. Eau Claire North’s Kianna Schubert, Briana Dittner, and Annika Binczak, and Memorial’s Ayva Crotteau qualified their solo dances for the chance to compete for spots on the All-State team.
Eau Claire Memorial is led by head coach Whitney Tabbert, and assisted by Rose Psak, while Sarah Kulig coaches the Eau Claire North squad. The State competition will be held at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, WI. This two-day event will run from Friday, February 2 to Saturday, February 3.
